What is a .unii File?
A .unii file is a password-protected, encrypted file created using the UNII app. The .unii extension identifies files that have been encrypted with military grade protection and can only be opened with the correct password.
Each .unii file contains a single encrypted image, video, or PDF. The original content is completely hidden — without the password, the file is unreadable.

How .unii Files Work
When someone creates a .unii file using the UNII app:
- The original file (image, video, or PDF) is encrypted on the sender's device.
- A password is set that the recipient will need to unlock it.
- The sender chooses whether the recipient can save the decrypted content.
- The result is a single .unii file that can be shared through any platform.
The encryption happens entirely on-device. No server ever sees the original content or the password.
